We had another doctor's appointment today to check on jaundice levels. They're down today from yesterday, but they're still higher than they should be. The prescription is to keep feeding her as much as she'll take and get her in the sun (if possible).
The cats are also finally coming around to Amelia, although it's weird that there are all of these new things around the house (the swing, the playpen, the changing table) that we don't want them on. They're figuring it out slowly.
Today was Amelia's first doctor's appointment, just one day after she left the hospital. The reasoning for it was that she's a little jaundiced, and they want to keep an eye on things to make sure that she doesn't get worse.
She's eating well, she's pooping well, she's sleeping well; all indications point to her being a healthy little girl! The nurse practitioner we saw today agrees as well.
We're heading back again tomorrow to once again make sure everything is moving in the right direction. We know that Amelia won't mind, though. She seems to love car rides!
Amelia grew 1 inch.
She now stands 1' 9" tall.
Today we packed everything up and finally headed home. It feels like it took forever for the day to come, but now that it's here things get a bit terrifying.
I can report that everyone has made it home safely and that all is well.
It's been a busy couple of days. Even though Amelia mainly just sleeps, eats and poops, it seems like there's something to do every 10 minutes. Either she needs changing or is rustling around in her little crib, or we're getting her checked on by nurses. It's draining. We've been trying to snap some photos whenever something looks awesome, but mainly they're all when she's sleeping.
We're slated to be here at the hospital until Monday, although we may be able to head home on Sunday if all goes well. It might be our call if we want to stay. Although it's not a lot of fun being at a hospital, it's nice to have help whenever we need it. We don't really know what we're doing, and the nurses here are always patient to teach us.
