We're so happy to welcome our little Amelia Rose into the world!
It was a rough end of the night. Contractions started getting worse around 5:00pm, to the point of intolerable pain around 9:00pm. After an epidural that the nurse said happened quickly (although it felt like it took an hour), Mom finally was able to rest. Dad sat on the side trying to be supportive, but it was torment watching and not being able to really do anything.
Around 10, Mom was a lot more comfortable. The doctor came in to see how the baby was doing and Mom was almost ready, but Amelia's heartrate had dipped a little, and the doctor recommended a C-section. After a grueling day, it was the last thing either of us wanted, but we knew we could trust our doctor, so we said OK.
Dad got all suited up and waited in the hallway.
After a bit of preparation, Dad got invited in and only a couple of minutes later, our little girl was born.
Amelia weighted in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 20" long.
She was born on 11:39pm, October 19th.
Welcome to the world little girl!
